The Luna D'Oro menu is a love letter to traditional German cuisine.
Lavishly staged by the world's best set designer, Uli Hanisch (Queen's Gambit, Babylon Berlin, Hunger Games), and his superb team, our Luna masterfully balances tradition and modernity. The impressively charming setting is reflected in the refreshingly inspired German cuisine and every other selection, served by one of the city's most charming teams.
Luna D'Oro honors the legendary golden disco ball, the landmark of the ballroom - the "golden moon" - and is a tribute to a dance teacher who once worked under the name Luna D'Oro in Clärchens Ballhaus.
The lovingly resurrected wall painting of a dancing couple, which may show the legendary Luna herself, exudes the elegance of days gone by. The newly upholstered antique chairs and the benches, which are reminiscent of church pews, also contribute to the nostalgic atmosphere.
Luna tells an old story as authentically and stylishly as only Clärchens can with its history, and does not forget to appeal to young Berlin with modern standards of gastronomy.
The restaurant with 146 seats is open Monday through Sunday from 5pm.
PAUL GERBER
Head Chef Paul Gerber trained in Michelin-starred French gastronomy, honing his craft in both Helsinki and Paris. Over the past three years, he has led the kitchen at Ember, a renowned restaurant in Berlin, where he has further explored his passion for German-Austrian cuisine, drawing inspiration from his grandmother's traditional recipes.
